Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
A bit of news...As some of you know, I have been experiencing back pain for about 8 months, which has grown increasingly worse over the past weeks. All along it was treated as a disk protrusion and arthritis. It turns out the pain was from neither. Last Tuesday I had a CT scan, which revealed a tumor behind my rectum that is pressing against my spine, causing the pain that I have been having.

This obviously came as a shock, even more so in light of the events of our lives over the past two years. But we are filled with confidence, and a peace that has overwhelmed us. I have had one biopsy already, with another to follow this Wednesday. I will most likely begin treatment within the next 10 days.

So, we would welcome your prayers. Our hope lies in the belief that the Kingdom has come, and with it access to the healing of our bodies. We hope you will join us in this fight.

Mark, I meant you briefly one time at Kerri's house. First I want to thank you for the support you have extended to Kerri and Eric. Because you are family to them, you are important to me. I began praying for you when you first experienced the pain in your back. My husband had been through that kind of pain and I could appreciate what you were going through. With the new diagnosis I continue to pray. My husband and I were just talking about times in our lives when we have two choices; to trust or to fear. My prayer is that trust will win out in this journey. I also will be praying for Amy that her strength will be in the Lord.
God bless you.

Palmer, my mind floods with questions and thoughts concerning you and your family with this latest development. My thoughts and prayers will be ongoing Wednesday as you face the biopsy and the waiting that goes with it. If anyone has ever questioned if our faith is tested, now would be the time I would say yes. But God is good, and His love for us is only surpassed by His wisdom of how to best show us that love.
